Børge Mogensen - J39
The J39 is Børge Mogensen's most successful chair, inspired by his teacher Kaare Klint and American Shaker furniture. He designed the simple woven chair while development head of the furniture department of FDB, the Danish co-operative chain. The department's ambition was to make beautiful high-quality furniture available to everyone. They were particularly successful with the J39, now a classic piece of furniture for settings ranging from canteens and conference rooms to churches and private homes. The chair is available with a hand-woven seat in natural or black paper yarn. It is made of solid untreated, soaptreated or lacquered beech or oak. |
