Founded by Per Jorgensen in Soho in 1957 Scandia have been importing and selling quality Danish furniture for over 45 years. In the beginning it was retail furniture to stores around the U.K. Showrooms in Marylebone High Street & Golden Square, London followed until it was decided to move the whole operation to Dorton in Buckinghamshire in 1968. With a showroom at the Business Design Centre in Islington for over 10 years.

By this time the company was specialising in Contract Furniture from Denmark. Close contact was developed between Scandia and Magnus Olesen whose designers Rud Thygesen and Johnny Sorensen were concentrating on durable, elegant designs for heavy-duty use. Over 25 years ago Erik Boisen started using the same designers and began producing desks and cabinets to match the Magnus Olesen tables and chairs enabling Scandia to offer a complete design brief. These relationships are still well established along with a number of others.

After a spell in a Danish furniture factory, learning the trade, Karin Jorgensen joined the company in 1977 until December 2006, whereby Scandia entered into it's latest development. We believe we now offer the 'complete solution' to your Danish design requirements.

Our aim is to enhance people's working environments with beautiful practical furniture and to offer a service, which matches the furniture's high standards. Our portfolio can supply your reception/waiting areas, meeting/training & conference rooms, offices, restaurants and canteens, in fact furniture throughout your building.
